Our pets exhibit a love for us that is one of the purest forms of love many people experience. It isn't based on success, appearance, or accomplishments. A pet's love brings ripples of joy to us without words. The visual joy of a wagging tail meeting us at the door when we come home after a long day of work is like no other love.

Anyone who has lost a pet knows that you are not "just grieving a pet". You are grieving a family member who shared your days, celebrated your joys, and comforted your tears.

We lost our fourteen-year-old West Highland Terrier (more commonly known as a Westie) on February 17, 2025. This was after his 8-month health battle with dementia and neuropathy. Caesar was full of life and energy right up until the end... although the energy in his last months of life might have been expressed as a growl or a snap! We are forever grateful to our vet's office staff and our groomer for the extra love they showed our "grumpy old man" during those last months as well as family members and friends who cried with us and loved on us when we lost him.
